Global Warming

Well maybe not the whole planet, but at least this corner of New England is FINALLY getting warmer. That means t-shirt weather! AND Flea Season! I hope to be out and about at a Flea or Festival this summer, with some new stuff.

From the Sad News department: RE:discover, that charming shop in Harrisville, has closed. It was an outpost of gentility in the Northwest corner of the state... a lovely spot owned by a lovely person. Oh well - Beth may be back with an occasional event, so keep an eye out for announcements. Meanwhile, you can still get my shirts at Rhody Craft on Hope Street in Providence.

Enjoy Spring and see you around!

How Does a T-shirt Help the Homeless?

A portion of every sale goes to support the incredible work being done by the staff and volunteers at Providence Rescue Mission. They provide safe and clean emergency housing for dozens of people every night, and serve thousands of families and individuals every month. The staff makes $1 work like $10, so I know it is all worthwhile. The Mission also has a separate home for women in transition, and their children...and it is heartwarming to see these vulnerable families getting a hand up.

It was my great privilege to send another donation to the Mission, from the sales of my shirts. This is one of the reasons I started this journey three years ago...and it has been a joy. Thank you to all who purchased a shirt or really do make a difference for someone you may never meet!

It has been a busy week for me and the United States Postal Service. Many Priority Mail envelopes are on their way all over the country. It's fun to think about someone in Milwaukee wearing Blue State (yes, one shipped there yesterday). Do Minnesotans even know we are a state? They probably think it's Indiana... take away the East Bay, and it just about could be!

Back Roads shirts will soon be spotted in Georgia, Texas, California, Maine... and the wearers will have to explain what "Three All the Way" means. Or what an ALMACS was.

A heartfelt and hearty thank you to all who helped this venture along this year - I appreciate your purchases and support, and have truly enjoyed meeting so many at the festivals and Fleas. Have a wonderful Christmas (and I hope your Hannukah was merry, too) and a Happy New Year!

New Face!

If you're reading this, you are on my brand-spankin'-new website! This easier-to-shop site was designed in collaboration with the marvelously talented Phil Berg. Thank you so much!

Please be patient with me as I clean up extraneous copy, take better photos, and try to post fresh new stuff. Let me know if you see any problems, or have any comments. Shop and enjoy!

Fun at the Flea

I had a great time at the Flea - what an incredible location. Right on the waterfront, nice breeze... food trucks at the curb. I highly recommend it for an afternoon's amusement. I won't be there for the rest of the summer... but I may Flea again in September. In the meantime, you can always shop here on my site, or at REdiscover in Harrisville, or Small Circle on Wickenden in Providence. Or just send me an email. I have been known to deliver shirts to customers in Job Lot parking lots... how Rhode Island is that??!!
