Random Thoughts on a July Day

There is some fabulous weather happening this week. Sunny, dry,mid-80s. (Insert Obvious Statement here) This is the best time of year to live in Rhode Island. Today's Tall Ships Parade of Sail up Narragansett Bay is one reason why... should be spectacular from Beavertail.
Went for my orchard walk early this morning, and cadged a few ripe raspberries from the tangled undergrowth at the roadside. I took a few pictures - check them out at my Back Roads Clothing FB page.
Getting ready to rock the Hullabaloo in Newport the next 2 Wednesday nights. The Tall Ships may be gone, but I'll be bringin' da HOPE!

Festival Gypsy

I had a great day at the Riverwalk Festival in Harrisville - thank you to Beth of RE:discover for all her work to put together such a nice small-town celebration.
I had fun talking to people about my shirts, and meeting so many nice people - and a special thanks to those who bought Get What You Give shirts... I am thrilled to send the proceeds to Providence Rescue Mission. So, I guess I'm officially a festival gypsy now... the next one is 2 weeks from tomorrow, in Newport at the Newport Yachting Center. Stop in and see me at Hullabaloo on July 11 and July 18!

Sunny Week Straight Ahead

Yay! Sunshine is promised for the foreseeable future. And it looks good for Saturday - when I'll be at the Riverwalk Art Festival in Harrisville with all these fine t-shirts. Where is Harrisville, you may ask?? It's in the forgotten far-corner of Rhode Island, north of Chepachet, west of Woonsocket. Worth the ride, it is a charming small town, and Saturday's celebration will include a farmer's market, artists, and the grand opening of the town's new pavilion. Woo-hoo! Come check it out and discover yes, there is Life in Burrillville. see you there!

Check out this shopping site - It's like Pinterest with instant shopping. Very addicting, you can blow through an hour without realizing it. You've been warned.
Speaking of open skies, I saw an amazing full-arc rainbow over Providence this week - demonstrating that there IS hope!

A Very Un-Festive Saturday

The steady downpour caused the cancellation of the Providence Art Festival today - major bummer. I was very much looking forward to it... but I commend the organizers for calling it, in consideration of all the vendors, merchandise and equipment. I hope they can reschedule it soon. In the meantime, please shop from your comfy couch, and I hope to see you at another festival this summer!
