Hot Weenahs

So those 3 All the Way shirts are very popular - thanks to a Facebook post by our friends at Olneyville New York System. I thank them for their neighborliness. Now folks from Coventry to Indianapolis will be sporting the finest in snackwear - !

Wow. and I say Again. Wow.

I had a great day today at the Garden City Art Festival. Met so many fun and entertaining, happy and hopeful Rhode Islanders! And, many of them went home with a shirt that matches that hopeful and fun attitude... so cheers to you all! Wear your shirts in good health!
Didn't make it to Garden City today? I'll be there tomorrow, too - June 9, 10-5. Or if you can't make it, shop here online or in RE:discover in Harrisville or at Small Circle on Wickenden in Providence - they have the goods too!

Local Band Immortalizes 3 All the Way

So the Rhode Show on Fox Providence is running a Big Break Contest for local bands... and one of the band videos entered is a band called Clear Blue. Their video features a song (shot on location...) titled... wait for it.... 3 All the Way! Funny, I have just the shirt for those guys... If you want to vote for them, check out the video at (and watch the ENTIRE video or the vote don't count!). Check out their website at

24+ inches of snow makes for a very white world. The air is so cold that there is no melting, so all the tree limbs are still weighed down with snow. The birds are feeding frantically... but no sign of any squirrels. I'm sure hunger will drive them out of their treetop nests tomorrow... and we'll have peanuts for them.
I feel for all those without power tonight. It will be very cold - single digits. I hope their pipes survive intact and that they can stay warm til their power comes back.

We made good progress on the 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle. It's a jungle scene with multiple flowers, flora and fauna. Enough to madden you! This one could take til spring to complete!

Daylight's Last Gleaming

As I write this the sun has just slipped below the western horizon, and a few last desperate rays light the treetops. It's a sun with no warmth in it... got to a whopping 26 degrees today. The sky has that Maxfield Parrish blue hue to it, sets the bare tree branches off in silhouette. Doesn't last long, so I try to savor it when I see it.
One of the benefits of cold nights is clear skies and lots of stars. I may bundle up and take a short walk to see some....

Joy and Peace

We need it more than ever this year. It may seem to be in short supply, but look no further than Luke 2 for some good news. "An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."
